I think that is what they are better known for, things like their wireless and satellite services.

    is  wireless any good?

Like in general or from Digiweb? The wireless product from Digiweb is called metro wireless. VDSL is better but sometimes its not an option for some people, so the metro wireless is the next best thing. Its probably not good for things like gaming due to the latency (depends on the signal strength) but I've no experience with it personally.

its a 10 mb upload speed is that quick enough?

It depends if you will be heavily uploading. 10Mb is fine for most people though. Will it just be for normal, general internet use?

10Mb is perfectly fine then. It might be worth giving them a call during the day just in-case they don't do metro wireless in your area.

I have the Metro Freedom package with them for quite a while now and I find it good. For a 30MB connection I usually get speeds very close to that. It is a fixed wireless service that consists of an antenna on your roof feeding to an indoor modem/router and is a good alternative if DSL or Fibre is unavailable. It is very good for streaming and latency should be Ok for gaming. It also carries a phone service (so no need for a land line).

Satellite is a non runner, as pings and latency is too high and the capping limits are low.

They are also starting to re-sell the SIRO FTTH service in some areas already and this will spread over the next 18 months or so. With speeds of between 150MB and 1GB you can't go wrong and generally they are competitively priced.

As a previous poster mentions it would be advised to contact them on 1800 285828 or visit http://www.digiweb.ie to see what is available to you.

Been with them for years on the metro 30mb/1mb product and can't fault them. Gaming is no problem, constant low pings and solid connection while playing the likes of BF1/Battlegrounds/Rocket League etc. Have no problems streaming netflix\skygo\youtube etc with 2/3 streams going at once sometimes.

Switched to Eir a couple of years back and when I had the chance I went straight back to Digiweb again, Eir were terrible from sales to customer services and up to middle management, completely incompetent in dealing with all the issues I had from day one, and the pathetic 4.8mb speeds I was getting when I was promised up to 100mb fibre!

Digiwebs Customer service is usually excellent, haven't had an issue yet that they haven't fixed promptly and there have been very few issues or outages tbh.

The Metro Unlimited does have a fair usage policy like everyone else so if you are streaming a lot of youtube/netflix then you need to keep an eye on it. I think it is officially 350GB but I have an e-mail from a chat I had with them online where they confirmed it is actually 500GB. I'm rarely hitting 300GB a month anyways but I would only be streaming when I get home from work, not all day everyday.

I have an old cable modem from them that only has 1 LAN output and connects the phone also, so I had to add my own router to handle wireless/additional ports. I think their new modem is the Thomson TWG870 which should cover all that now.

DVD-Lots. If you are back om their Metro product I m surprised that you are not supplied with the TWG 870 cable modem. I was offered the unit when I upgraded to Metro Express 30MB (now replaced by Freedom) and was told at the time that all the older ones would be replaced.

Bookmad. As for the Thompson modem itself it has 4 gigabit LAN ports along with 2 RJ11 for a standard phone. The unit is not locked down like with other ISP's and the menus are easy to navigate. So you should be able to port forward.

As for the Fritzbox (used on their fibre options) there should be no problems there either. If you experience any issues their technical support will help you to sort it out.

Yeah it was my own fault, they asked if I still had the original modem at the time and I said yes, I was happy with the TP-Link router I had attached at the time so never thought to ask for a new one. I only just bought a new Wavlink AC1200 to replace the TP-Link too and never thought of giving them a buzz to see what they could do for me. I got the Wavlink only because it is dual bandwidth and I can attach 2 USB devices to it, printer and Media drive to share with the family etc.
