Aware of a person with no family and diminished capacity who is now in a nursing home.

The solicitor was made the executor years ago and has since died so this right has passed to a family member of the solicitor.
The family member has put the house up for sale (and dumped all contents) to "pay for fair deal scheme" even though there is definitely more than enough in the bank to fund any care needed.

This person could well have left that house to somebody in a will.
Is it really ok to carry on like this? Not a family member or anything. If the house is sold and there was indeed a will, is it then worthless?
