Sorry! Another help needed to style the dress - a statement item?

My son is making his confirmation shortly and I'm trying to organise my own outfit.

I have a knee length Navy fit and flare dress which I think I'll be wearing with a cream short jacket. The neckline of the dress is to my collar bone.

The outfit is relatively simple and so I'd like to add a statement item, either shoes, bag or necklace.

I can't wear too high heels, I'm 5ft 7 so no need for extra height!

Any advice would be great - I'm rubbish with this stuff.
    Thanks

i think silver shoes and clutch are always nice with black or navy but keep jewellery to a minimum instead, just a bracelet and dangly earrings -both very fine- would do. you might even find some with a little bit of navy in them.
if you want to add some color then id probably go for red shoes and clutch.

i find it hard to tell without seeing the dress and jacket together though so i could be completely wrong! :o

id suggest taking the dress and jacket into town with you and popping into a few stores to see what you can put together :)

I can't wear them myself because my feet are a bit odd but you can't beat Ruby Shoo for a quirky 'statement' shoe to dress up an otherwise simple/classic outfit, and they do lots of lower and mid height heels. They do matching bags too if you're into that look (I prefer either fancy shoes and a plainer bag or vice versa!). I think these would be fab, with a red bag and simple metal jewellery or maybe with a navy or white/cream bag and jewellery with a bit of red? http://www.rubyshoo.com/product/352/shoes or there's a matching bag http://www.rubyshoo.com/product/353
Greene's tend to stock a lot of their stuff.

Thanks so much, some great suggestions there. I'm still waiting for the jacket to arrive so hope it will look okay.
I think I might be as well looking for a raincoat if this weather continues:D
