Advise on Sewage Treatment system

Built a house 6 years ago and put in a sewage treatment system\septic tank. For the first three years all seemed to work fine but in the last three years is has been given us nothing but problems. Every few months I need to get the septic tank emptied even though only two people living in house. It is an electronic system called AquaStar that I got put in now there is a red light on the system, however the back area where it is suppose to drain off has been completely dry for the past three years. (You will have to excuse my ignorance as really don't know alot about them thus this post and poor choice of treatment system) When I call back the company it came from they want nothing to do with it and when I call other sewerage treatment companies they said that the company that originally manufactured them is gone out of business and refuse to come out to help as they say they will fix one issue and in a few days time I will need to contact them again with another error. Thus can get no-one to even look at it alot of them advise me to get rid of it and buy another system. My questions are (a) Should I as this will cost alot, whats the alternative? and (b) If so what even system do I go for ? Hopefully a better one than we have as it is costing me €210 to get it emptied every few months it is becoming so expensive and at this stage I think going in a hole dug in the ground would be cheaper. Please help anyone as it is frustrating and it seems everyone is giving me different advise so that it works out as money and business for them.

Sorry if this is in the incorrect topic area . . .

Wow, what a predicament. Might have to look for an independent guy on dondeal or the like to check it.

Sounds like the fluid in the septic tank isn’t making it to the leach field (blockage?)  or the leach field is saturated and can’t absorb

Best of luck, hope others here can chime in and assist you further

    Hi
I would guess seeing the tank is not emptying itself, the pump that pumps the effluent from the tank to the percolation area needs replacing. I have an aquamax system which i believe works on a similiar (SBR) principle as aquastar systems but looks different. If you google Aquastar you will get details of a company in kildare and one in wexford that may be able to help.
There is a diagram on a uk site called roman solutions of an Aquastar system. I dont know if it matches your system.
Just as an fyi my aquamax system costs about 2K new and each pump is about 400.
    Hope this helps.

Most of the effluent systems are a dual chamber tank with one or two pumps and/or a small compressor ,float switches with a controller.
They operate similar to each other anyone who works on and understands any one system should be able to fault find any other one.

If the tank is not emptying it could be a pump, float switch, controller , a fuse or a blockage.
Honestly they are not the hardest thing to fault finding.

I feel your pain op. I bought a house a year ago and the sewage treatment wasn't working.

Like you, I found it very difficult to find somebody to have a look at it.

I got a north Kildare company (possibly the one mentioned above) to have a look at it. They were the biggest shower of cowboys I have ever dealt with. I called them out on 4 different occasions to get it working. They hadn't a clue what they were doing. Changed pumps, cables etc. In the end they refused to come out anymore.

I ended up googling the drawings of my sytem and started to fault find. As the poster above said, they are not the most complicated things in the world. In my case, a pipe connecting two of the tanks had cracked and was leaking. I dug it up and repaired the pipe myself.

    It's working perfect since.
