    Hi I am looking at a car to buy but when i ran a motorcheck, I noticed the following...


    13/03/2014 236,001 Kms (146,644 Mls) INMR
    30/11/2013 184,756 Kms (114,802 Mls) UK Trade
    02/10/2012 302,594 Kms (188,023 Mls) UK MOT
    01/10/2012 189,940 Kms (118,023 Mls) UK Trade

    14/09/2012 187,542 Kms (116,533 Mls) UK Trade

    Does it looks like someone may have made a mistake???

    The thing is the mistake seems to be on the MOT side....


    as the milage goes from 118,023 to 188,023 in the space of 19 days.

    That looks like a typo on the 2nd digit of the mileage.

    Defoe looks like it was clocked between 2012 and 2013 as even ignoring the 188km entry the miles still went backwards

    if you ignore the 188 as a typo there;s still a discrepancy where the mileage is 4000 lower a year later

    That 30/11/13 entry must also be a typo though because 4 months later the mileage had increased by 32k.

    if you take 01 10 12 to be correct then 146000 18 months later could well be correct too.

    Does it have a fully stamped service history with receipts that you can compare against by calling the dealers in question? If not I would avoid, plenty of cars with verifiable history out there.

    Call or email motorcheck and ask them to check out the readings.
