    Hello -

I'm in the USA, but I'm looking for the following 3 Irish TV works on either DVD or VHS, regardless of regional format -

    1. These 10 episodes of "On Home Ground", an Irish TV series (hourlong drama) that was broadcast on RTE from 2001 to 2002 (2 seasons) -

    Episode #1.1
    Episode #1.2
    Episode #1.3
    Episode #1.4
    Episode #1.7
    Episode #2.1
    Episode #2.3
    Episode #2.4
    Episode #2.5
    Episode #2.8

    2. The first 6 episodes from the 1st season of "Raw", an Irish TV series (hourlong drama) that had its first season broadcast on RTE in 2008

    3. "Whiskey Echo" (all of it), an Irish-Canadian TV movie or miniseries (drama) that may have been split into 4 hourlong episodes in January & February of 2005

If anyone has any of them, knows where I could find any of them, or knows of any other, possibly better, sites, message boards, forums, Usenet newsgroups, etc. on the Internet where I could post this message, esp. such as ones in Ireland (or Canada for "Whiskey Echo") or relating to DVD's, VHS videotapes, etc., it'll be greatly well-appreciated if you could let me know - thanks.  You can e-mail me at <SNIP>

Mod Edit: putting an email address in a public forum is not a great idea. If you can help TF9, send them a private message. :)

Sorry that I forgot to mention it in my original message, but I've already tried RTE's own official site (a few months ago, actually), and unfortunately not only were they unable to help me, but they even had difficulties trying to explain why they couldn't.  Thanks anyway, though, as I appreciate your attempt to help.

Raw season one DVD appears to be available on Amazon.co.uk

I don't recall On Home Ground ever getting a home media release.

Thanks for telling me that about "Raw".  As for the other 2, esp. "On Home Ground", I'm hoping that someone out there, most likely somewhere in Ireland, personally recorded the episodes themselves at home with their own equipment and still have them on DVD or VHS.

Just to give an update, I've now very recently managed to acquire all 6 episodes of Season 1 of "Raw" on DVD (2 discs) from Amazon.co.uk, as well as a region-free DVD player on eBay, so now I'm looking for just the 10 episodes from the first 2 seasons of "On Home Ground" & all of "Whiskey Echo".

Why dont you contact some of the actors and see if they have a copy? Some of them do voiceover work so it would be easy enough to get in contact with them. That's what I would try anyway. They might know who to contact.

Thanks very much for that suggestion, as I'll consider it, esp. if all else fails, but aren't most actors, even if they do voiceover work, actually hard to get in contact with?  I suppose I could search for their e-mail addresses on the Internet, or search for their official websites, if they have any, on which they may have a contact page through which I could possibly e-mail them, but if that's unsuccessful, then I could try to send them brief letters via regular postal mail to ask them if they could help me in any ways whatsoever.  Thanks again.

Well, I apologize (very sorry) if I did anything inappropriate or improper, but I forgot to mention that the reason that I've been searching for these particular Irish TV works is that they feature an Irish actress named Dominique McElligott, whom I'm a huge fan of.  And yes, I've already tried contacting RTE directly, in addition to other things I've attempted, but strangely or ironically, they were unable to help me.
As I said from the start, I'm in the USA, and I registered to join these message boards (Boards.ie) just a few months ago (in late February) pretty much just to post the messages like my original post.  Again, if I've done anything wrong or offended, upset, or angered anyone here, then I apologize - very sorry!  I don't have any intentions to post my original post anywhere else on Boards.ie, as now I don't even know where else I could post it anyway.

Could anyone who uses RTE Player please help me? I haven't been able to get it to work for me since early January (I'm in the USA), so could ANYONE who is able to record off RTE Player please record Episodes 2, 3, 4, & 7 of Season 1 of "On Home Ground" for me onto DVD recordable discs that I could pay for, plus the shipping costs, etc.?

If there's ANYONE whatsoever out there who could (please) help me out, it'll be tremendously appreciated - THANKS.

Hi TF9. I've merged all of your threads.

I assume you can't watch the Player due to region restrictions. I think your best bet is to look into VPNs.

It's a way of tricking your PC into thinking that you're in Ireland.

I can't discuss any more than that because it's against the charter, but hopefully it steers you in the right direction.

You'll probably have better luck with that than hoping someone puts them on DVD for you, to be honest.

Thanks, but I've actually already tried that (after someone else here kindly suggested it), and it worked for me right away when I started using RTE Player in mid-December, but it stopped working for me in early January, apparently due to RTE Player starting to detect VPNs, and ever since then, everything I've tried has unfortunately been to no avail.
