    Hi all,

    I have a Peugeot 5008 that takes H7 bulbs.

I fed it a set of Osram Nightbreakers 6 months ago, they lasted 3 months and blew. I replaced those with a set of Philips high output bulbs, same deal.

What do you guys use that is nice and bright for the winter nights, but lasts more than 3 months?

    Ken

Halfords heavy duty, they work brilliantly in the Avensis which was consuming H7's at an alarming rate. They seem to give out the same output as the fancier bulbs, with the lousy Avensis lights it's hard to tell..

Stick to the cheaper, standard brands like Lucas or Ring. They provide no less illumination than the "nightbreaker" type and are far more durable.

I use Osram and mine last years. Maybe you have some underlying issue OP.

Are they phasing out the Nightbreaker/Nightbreaker Unlimited and making the Nighbreaker Laser the only option from now on?

Powerbulbs used to offer a 12month warranty on the high performance bulbs before but will only offer 6 months on the Laser and the equivalent Phillips bulbs.

I used to get close to 2 years from the nightbreakers, got barely over the 12 months with phillips extreme brilliance or whatever.
I did find the nightbreakers were worth that bit extra but I'm not willing to pay any more for bulbs that last less than them.

Perhaps something going on there OP, I used to get a lot longer than 3 months from the high output bulbs, sometimes up to two years.

Are the fittings/mountings okay? Are you getting grease/paw marks on them when fitting them? Alternator issues?
