I have to build a long stretch of block wall back of the road about 1.5m from the edge of a busy main road. The foundations have been poured already 6 years ago and been lying since. Since im taking on this job, im thinking health and safety first and might need to have some traffic management in place, while the wall is going up. Does anyone here have information howd id go about getting these lights, how much will it costs and how long does it take to process the application once i submit to the council. Most work i do is all private work in houses, clients land etc.. or even worked on jobs that have had traffic management, but this will be my first job needing it so want to know all i can before i start.

If you tell me what area you are in, I can pm you some numbers.

You can not set up traffic management yourself. You need at least one person with a valid Sign Lighting & Guarding CSCS Ticket. This person needs to be on site at all times.
Anyone I know would charge at least €250 per day plus hire of all signs and cones. They will also draw up a traffic management plan, which details all the signage and cones required.
Another option, is you yourself could sit the SLG course. It lasts 3 days, with a theory and a practical exam. Unlike the Safe Pass, you can actually fail this course, but if you have any cop on at all, it should be no bother.
Also most of the trainers offer to do up personalised TM drawings for a small fee.
The cost of the course is around €650 - €750, but it's something you will always have, and if you do a bit of contracting, perhaps other builders could hire you for a day here and there if they needed someone for traffic management.
Obviously after paying for the course, you would need to add in the cost of hiring the signs and cones and traffic lights, so it's worth doing your homework.

Can you build the wall from the non-road side?
Is the boundary the wall? or is the wall inside the boundary
