    Hi,
    Sorry if in wrong forum.
Looking at getting an item on eBay .
Made an offer, then he emailed me and said it would be easier to send money through PayPal to his email.
Just wondering if I'm protected with PayPal ?
Like if the item doesn't get sent or arrives?

As long as you don't send it as a gift you are covered.

pp is still tied with ebay, thus dunno why ask to send it directly to personal account, but as above send it for good's or services and in the description field put in detailed description of what are you getting/paying for.

    Thanks for the replies.
Ye he wanted to send it on to his email to avoid eBay fees.
Will go ahead now knowing I'm protected if it goes wrong.

If you send payment as friend you have no protection. Cover the extra few quid yourself for protection

Just had a read of the buyer protection and seen 'what's not covered' and it says motorized vehicle of any kind.
Its a motorbike part so now I'm skeptical :p
Prob reading into this too much :p

I'd be avoiding a seller that tries to defraud eBay. His or her ethics would be questionable.

thats why people should look up reviews,if seller is established,it may be to avoid ebay fees, either way pp protects buyer, you dont even need to mention where you bought stuff if dispute arises it all comes down to usual if item wasnt delivered or came in damaged, not as agreed pp investigates and settles usually with buyer.

Yeah definitely avoiding ebay fees. Sometimes they go one step further and ask the person to send it as a personal paypal payment to avoid paypal fees as well. Red flag, wouldn't buy from them
