    Hi All,

Just wondering where the cheapest place in Ireland for saplings is, thinking of a mix, oak, ash, scotts pine etc.

Got a few off the million trees programme and was wondering if I could either grow my own or buy them cheaply.

    Thanks,
    Gary

Keep an eye around the hedges, in cattle grids, coming up through the lawn. In around the woods where a tree has fallen is a great place too.
If you want to pay for them send me a cheque. :)

The cheapest don't always represent the best value.
You want saplings with a good bushy root system. Paying a bit more for good quality is well worth while with bareroot.

That place looks great in fairness, might be expensive for me though as only deliver on orders over 250, was planning on spending 50 tops this year.

Try Future Forest, they're out at Kilkeal past Bantry. They will courier out any quantity. They might not be the absolute cheapest but their bareroot are good quality. There are price breaks for 10+ stems. Order on Friday or Monday as they ship on Monday or Tuesday to ensure nothing is left in the depot over the weekend.
