Why were Clint Velour and the Camembert Quartet, who were the band on Ryan Tubridy's Saturday night show, compelled to change their name to The Late Late Show House Band when Tubridy became the presenter of the Late Late Show?

To be quite honest Clint Velour and the Camembert Quartet is quite a mouthful to say, not only that but's it really forgettable also.

At least with the new name it can referred to as the Late Late Band or the House Band or whatever.

As a musician, it must be terribly annoying for them having to constantly play little snippets of songs, never actually getting to play a good ole whack of a full song.

I'd love to know how much they get paid for doing it. The Late Late Show managed for 48 years without one and I sincerely doubt anybody would notice if they went missing.

Total waste of money and nothing more than a personal indulgence on Tubridys part.

This is, without a doubt, the most pointless thread I have ever seen in the history of boards. It's like starting a thread called "Why did Marathon change it's name to Snickers?" What are you hoping to discover from this thread? What could be that interesting a discovery to entice you to create a thread like this? Did it just pop into your head on the bus one day? If I made a thread about all the random sh1t I think of, I'd be banned. Like I often find myself wondering "Why are there extra shiny silver bits on the bottom of the Spire when the top portions are matte finish?" Would I make a thread about it? No.

I'm a big fan of them since college, they are hilarious and actually quite good!

I remember seeing them in the Sugar Club back in the day; one of the best cover bands I've ever seen. Literally could play anything.
