Trying to unlock Vodafone Huawei R206

    Hey

I have Vodafone Huawei R206, that I am trying to unlock.
I was wondering is it possible to unlock it myself, or is it better to pay someone else to do it. I am a bit wary of handing over my money to someone online to unlock this dongle, so any recommendations would be welcomed.

I tried getting in touch with Vodafone, but they don't unlock this modem and it's impossible to figure out anything on the Huawei technical support website.

    Can anyone help?

    That's a good one!

The thugs don't trust each other anymore. ;)

Then try it yourself and brick it - no risk, no fun.

I would try it myself, but I have no clue how to do it.
Can't find any sites that will give me an idea how to get the codes.
    Do you have any ideas?

Good Lord OP it's only €1.16 to get an unlock code from a reputable seller on ebay

No need for that attitude.

I just realised that even if I bought an unlock code, it ain't gonna work. The modem is too old and my computer doesn't recognise it from the COM port anyway...

No firmware comes up to be able to enter this code, so it would be pointless paying for a code that won't work.

Never mind, anyway...thanks for the help

Can't you log in to it via an ip address in your browser ?

Yeah I can, but nothing comes up to enter in the unlock code..I just get the usual vodafone wifi page, except it is disconnected-because I am using a different SIM card.
