Notwithstanding the recent vogue for a more active moderating regime generally, the decision as outlined by kbannon to close the above thread was surprising.

    The stated reason was...
OK folks, this thread has gone from being political to being a discussion on the merits of a particular charity.
Therefore, I'm now going to close this thread.
    Thanks all for your input.

Since the particular NAMA Property occupation was always illegal of itself, and most certainly provenly so by decision of the High Court, the resultant discussion was always going to be politicised, and remains so.

Kbannon appears to be reflecting a moderating "think" that suggests otherwise, but in fact fails to recognise the reality that the action under discussion, (Seizure, occupation and eviction from Apollo House) was devised, planned and carried out by a single entity (HSH) whose actions, both collectively and as a group of individual members now form the main element of the thread.
It is of importance too, that it be noted that HSH are NOT a registered Charity,as described by kbannon,so the thread cannot be about their merits in this regard,as they have none.

In such a fluid environment,it is inevitable that the focus will alter over the life of a thread, and I would suggest that shutting-down the thread whilst the core issue of Money remains under debate is,at best unhelpful, and quite possibly inexplicable.

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

As this is more related to a specific moderation action, it's more suitable in Help Desk.

    Moved from Feedback.
