BMW Economics / Premium Event

So I see BMW have been pushing their "Economics" offer between emails from dealers and even a phone call from BMW Ireland during the week to see if I knew about it.

    http://www.bmw.ie/en/topics/owners/for-owners/bmw-financial-services/bmw-ultimate-incentive.html

I then received a fancy letter from Frank Keane's inviting me to a attend a "Premium Event" at the start of March where they will have "exclusive offers" and "additional discounts".

I have been contemplating upgrading a 2008 E92 and am curious if the above is all marketing hype or is there genuine deals / value to be had with such offers / events?

Anyone looked into them, availed of them in the past?

No, but if it was that good they would not need to be so pushy with it as the word would spread. It's not for your benefit they are making phone calls, emails etc

According to sales stats so far this year Bmw's numbers are way down.
This is probably to drum up more numbers but you are unlikely to get anything extra off over normal if you haggle.
They're not suddenly going to start giving the cars away.

Thanks for the replies, my query was more about is there any value to be had with such offers...I am not so naive to believe the sales pitch or think I am getting something for nothing hence my query to see if anyone has availed of such offers in the past or current offers and try to understand was there any benefit/value to them over normal haggling/discounts.

No the sales drop is not entirely due to the new 5.
There has been a large fall across all their models.
The new 5 will help but they are apparently giving very poor trade in deals to existing 5 series owners.

Is it imports or the fact that so many 5 series out there that's causing it ?

I have been pestered by this in the last few weeks too, emails, phone calls, etc. It is marketing BS to try and get people into showrooms buying. There are no bargains, they are not suddenly giving away cars for half nothing. They will masage figures by giving you a contribution in one hand and either take most of that back by giving you a piss poor trade-in value or high interest rate on finance/PCP. I was in a BMW dealer in late January getting my car serviced and the showroom was very quiet, while the pending new 5 Series might contribute to that, they have plenty of other models in their line up but a fair share of customers are obviously not being duped by their playing with numbers. Hopefully a slim quarter or two on the sales front might bring them to their senses.

Also I would not even bother asking for a trade in value on a 9 year old E92, it's too old for them to sell on their forecourt so expect to be offered below it's trade value that they would sell it onto smaller dealers.

Wouldn't be considering a trade in on the E92, sell private and use funds towards something else would be the plan, just the car I was considering changing as its older than the F10.

I'm feeling unloved now as I haven't received anything about these great sales deals available 😙.

But I called into my local dealer as was passing this afternoon,
Expected the place to be busy what with the new 5 out and thought would be a line of test pilots.

    Place was shockingly quiet.
    No customers at all.

Anyway they had the 5 in se, m sport with 18" alloys and another with 19" alloys.
Have to say the se looks fine but I initially walked past it and had to go back when I saw it was the new 5. If I can't spot one don't think many will notice it.

Surprised it is so similar, they have gone with the safe option, no wonder they were keeping camaflouge on it to make it look different
