Is there any sign of these info packs, a clarification of what we have been accepted in to.

    Bit of a mess.

No sign of the info pack here either. My own planner is getting anxious and wants to see them sent out soon, but he just advised to proceed as planned with the actions I was approved for.

One would hate to be planting 6 acres of WBC only to find that they only are paying you for 2.

With regards to the Traditional Hay Meadow, it has to be locked off from tomorrow to the 1st of July, grand but is there any obligation on what is done to the grass, if need be could it be fed to cattle.

The field I have it in, has been grazed very tight, as of this morning, locked up now but it is a very dry piece of ground, that hasn't been fertilized or Slurried for a long time.

What it grows can be quite small.

Last year I took bales off it in the end of June and it was grazed the start of April. If need be could I graze it on the 2nd of July.

Because my glas planner was up to his eyes in glas plans I didnt get to see it before he submitted it. Doing my BPS today I have just discovered a major error. He has only submitted a 1.2 ha field for traditional hay meadow, he should have submitted 5ha as part of a 6 ha field, I have lost out substantially on glas payments as I maxed out on low input permanent pasture and I have a couple of smaller fields with no area based actions at all and the ground that is open to me for saving hay/haylage is substantially reduced. I remember feeling at the time that there should have been more money out of it an now I know why.(The fields with no area based actions on them are not really suitable for meadowing but I'll have to make the most of them one is on a really steep slope and the other is full of rocks

The only solution I see is to go organic and change all the area based actions over to that programme then I can manage them whatever way I like within the rules of that programme

Have I any comeback with the planner?

    I don't know...

How was the planner to know it was 5ha? (rather than 1.2ha) Do you have anything in writing?

I don't know if you can amend a plan, once submitted? I would guess the dept wouldn't be big on allowing lads increase the payment they'd like anyways...

4ha is a bit of a hit, over a grand is it, over each of the 5 years :(
