iPhone SE - Apps won't install or download

I have an iPhone SE and the other day I tried doing updates for WhatsApp and HeadSpace, it won't download the updates or install them for me. I tried to uninstall the apps but can't as neither will uninstall for me.
Both apps say "installing" but nothing is happening.
This is what WhatsApp looks like, HeadSpace is the same.
When I try downloading the update, this is the notification I get. It takes around 10 mins for this to come up, and that's on fast wifi.
Any ideas on what might be wrong or what I could do to fix it?
