    Hi all!!
Starting to look at paint colours for our house, what would people recommend? Is Colourtrend worth the extra or is Dulux just as good? Or Fleetwood?
    Thanks!

    I would always recommend Fleetwood.

I have never used Colourtrend, but I have heard wonderful things about it. Having used both Dulux & Fleetwood I would say you get what you pay for. I found the Fleetwood washable paint, particularly unwashable. B&Q Valspar paint is great, really good value, great coverage and amazing colour range. If you fancy splurging a bit more Farrow and Ball or Fired Earth in Dun Laoghaire is simply the best.

hi op really depends on your budget to be honest, colortrend have some fantastic products as with farrow and ball but they are an awful lot dearer than say dulux. As an example to paint a normal 3 bed could easily cost in and around 500 compared to say 200 , obviously depending on how many colours picked, woodwork being done etc.
Are you doing the work yourself??, i would always prefer to use colortrend, its like silk when your using it, really good product imo but for the price i honestly can't get away from dulux best of luck with it

Thanks for the replies everyone! We're hoping to get a painter in to do the hall and living/kitchen area. I just wanted to get an idea of what people recommend. Its a new build so I don't want to mess up but am conscious of the budget too! Might go for colourtrend in the areas that are used more and dulux elsewhere! Thanks again!!

OP - When I was looking at colours for our house, I got the brochures for all the main brands you mentioned just as some had different variances on colours (if you're going for actual colour as opposed to white). One room ended up being a mix of Dulux and Colourtrend as one brand didn't have all the colours we looked at.

Recently moved house and took the opportunity to have it painted top to bottom before we moved in (along with some other heating/plumbing/tiling work we were getting done)

Our painter recommended Colortrend and I'd previously been in some other houses where it had been used - have to say, it's not the cheapest, no, but the colour range and the quality of the finish is worth it.

When it comes to paint , the quality of the painter usually makes the difference as opposed to the paint brand .Ive found Dulux , crown and fleetwood are usually more than adequate for most homes.A diy paint job with colour trend won't be as a good as a professional painter using Dulux.
I would definitely stay away from B&Q/ lidl or similar own brands though as they seem to be very watery .
