    Hi All,

Recently qualified and somewhat concerned about CPD, 70 hours seems like a lot! Interested in what people typically do to fill the hours. Would take a lot of institute courses to cover.

Are you in practice? Large firm or small firm? A lot of large firms do internal training days etc. Otherwise you can go do day courses in the Institute.

I'm in industry, I understand there are lots of institute courses available but they don't seem to cover many hours and are expensive. Would be curious to hear if people have found viable alternatives.

I use OmniPro, they have a lot of online courses which I find handier to fit in time-wise and aren't as expensive as the Institute.

It's not as bad as it sounds.

It's 20 hours structured and 50 hours unstructured.

Structured are courses and seminars you attend.

Unstructured can be lots of different things such as reading and individual home study.

    Hello!

I became a ACA member in December 2017. I'm a little bit worried and confused on CPD.

How do people fufil the unstructured element of 50 hours? I know they say reading (max 25%) and home study but how do you record home study or prove it if required to (I'm not doing any courses/diplomas)? I would really appreciate some ideas on what other people do.

I've been working in a small practice in the midlands and in house training doesn't seem to happen.
