This was just a charity quiz, so there was no need to query the answer, but last night was asked "Which county is known as the Lake County"? Had heard Westmeath referred to such, so put that down, but Cavan was given as correct. A cursory Google search today reveals that no fewer than three counties (Cavan, Fermanagh and Westmeath) share the nickname, but only the last has no other. Other similar questions that quizmasters should avoid include "Which is the most westerly US state?", as have seen both Alaska and Hawaii given as correct. Any personal quizzing bugbears?

where is Cusack park?.... was asked at the last quiz I attended.
What's the longest river in the world.... always a bone of contention.
What is the traditional boundary between Europe and Asia? We said the Urals. They said the Caucusus. When we objected they said "traditional." Gobsh**es and chancers should be kept away from setting questions and adjudicating,
One night a kid was delegated to ask the questions. He asked: " Who was the last Tar of Russia?" The correct answer of course is MacAdam.
