    Hi All

I've been trying to do a rough estimation on what the pressure increase in a vessel will be as it's temperature rises. Say a closed pressurised tank with 50°C water @ 4.9bar increasing to 80°C

Is using Gay-Lussac's p1/p2=t1/t2 a fair attempt to see what happens? Considering that the density will only change by about 0.4% so can be excluded for the sake of a rough estimation.

    This means that I get

    4.9/(50/90)=p2= 8.8 bar

Am I looking at this the right way?
