I'm thinking of making a play area for my kids which will have a swing slide combo.

The grass/muck is always boggy due to it being beside a 7foot wall and gets no sun.

So I'm thinking of section off that part of the garden with a small timber boarder and small 6-10mm beach stone's, about two ton bags.

    Any thoughts.

Put down some of this stuff before you put any stone down. http://thepolytunnelcompany.ie/p/frost_protection_fleece_2m_wide Stops the muck from coming up through the stone and keeps weeds down. I had pebbles on mine before I redesigned the garden, took them up and laid artificial grass. The pebbles are grand except the kids kept digging them up and they were found everywhere.
When replacing them,I kept the mypex/weedblock in place and laid quarry dust on top, levelled and whacked it firm then laid the artificial turf and secured it to timber kerbing. My garden was wet too but now it's completely different and just needs a sweep of a yard brush now and then to keep clean.

We had the same problem with our garden and just put astro turf down. Great drainage, and still has a nice grassy feel for the kids to roll around on and it's not hard to land on either since there's muck underneath.

Was the Astro turf expensive and did you put it in yourselves?
