Was thinking of getting one of these .I Dont have a proper locking gate in my crush and i want a weighing scales anyway so i thought these were a perfect fit . Still not decided on a beef gate or a semi-auto gate.Has anyone got one .Just wondering on the pros and cons of the beef gate or a semi-auto gate.

So you intend to use this at the head of your crush, despite it being mobile instead of fixed? Will it be strong/stable/secure enough instead of a permanent one do you think? Currently building a small crush on land away from the yard, but also thinking of erecting a new main one in the yard with a bigger capacity. Was wondering if a mobile one as you suggest would do the two. Looked at the O'Donovan and O'Donnell ones last ploughing but didn't do anything yet.

That was the plan. They had 3 at the ploughing last year. The dearest one around 3400 euro i think looked very well made.I have a picture of one.The way im looking at it is a good locking gate at the front would prob cost 5 or 6 hundred euro and a weighing scales is around 1400 euro so thats 2 grand, with the crate you have an inspection gate at the side as well and a sliding gate at the back so no beating back an animal to close the gate.No doubt its a luxury item to have.It would fit nicely in front of my crush which is indoors so no rain on any electrics.I have to go and see it again before i decide.Definitely a weighing scales is a must i think in the beef game .

A tip for anyone putting up a new crush, install power and water close to the head of it. Important for alot of routine jobs nowadays.

Do you need a level crush for that scales? My yard is on a slope so I reckon it would be useless in my crush. BTW lakill I met you at the ploughing that year and had a great chat with you :)
