I know! It's seemed like a great idea at the time...ohh a glittery wall...how magical!
Anyway, long story short I'm moving out and need the glitter wall to disappear..
Any suggestions? Sand it? Paint over it??? Any help much appreciated :-)

My initial reaction would be to just do a few coats, but looks like that's the wrong answer... from this reddit thread:

Yeah I wonder how many coats it would take though, it's quite lumpy with the glitter. Maybe, if I sand it down a bit first!

if its one wall you could save yourself the trail and error the sanding and hoping the painting and seeing lovely glitter shine trough regardless

best option have that wall re-plastered for maybe 100 quid including materials
i am based in north county dublin maybe i could sort this problem

Hi, thanks for that but I have already sanded it down and painted it. It does still have a bit of 'texture' here and there but it's alright.
I do however have another problem you might be able to advise me on? I am painting another room and when I paint the wall the new paint lifts the old paint off the plaster...it's a nightmare! Any suggestions on how to deal with that?

More sanding unfortunately, I would suggest coating the walls with a p.v.a glue mixed at three parts water to one part pva coat the hole wall with the glue to removed all dust particles

Ugh....yes I thought you might suggest something like that. I was hoping for an easier cure but....no rest for the wicked! I better go get some more sand paper :(

Do NOT put pva glue on your walls.. The paint is peeling when you roll because the old paint is dead. It needs to be scraped off. When you roll the walls the wet paint softens the old paint so it pulls off. If you put PVA and water on it will do exactly the same thing.

Just scrape the walls down with a filling knife, refill if you can with a good filler and give 2 coats.
