Hi All. Just wondering if there are anybody out there that previously worked in the Passport Office in Cork,I was working there for around 6 Months last year, worked really hard there, got on great with everyone including staff and Mangement, but towards the end of my contract i got an offer to work as an Civil Clerical Officer within An Garda Siochana and i left to take that, but it was only a 6 month contract, so i applied again this year for passport office, passed interview and but didn't get in the top 45 places, and was placed on a panel i wasn't the only one 3 other former work collegues who worked there with me, also didn't get back. I am just wondering if this has happen to anyone else who previously work there. and one other question What are my chances of being taken on later in the year.

Its an open competition so I suppose previous work with them can't be taken into account. Were you on the panel the last time?

i was 48 in panel, everyone else got back expect 3 other people, and i worked really hard there last year not like other people that where taken back this year, got a great reference and probation report, from there, never took a sick day, like many more of of my collegues did or slept in, was always there early in the morning, it is typical Ireland today NO LOYALTY TO PEOPLE WHO WHANT TO WORK, most of these people won't last a day in the private sector. And i no for a fact im better worker that most ot those people working there a present.

I did the interview for this years competition in late November. I didn't perform as I would have liked in the interview, and I wasn't confident when they told me they were interviewing well over 100 people. I didn't even know this competition had run previously. I got the letter in early January to say that I passed the interview and was placed on a panel, but didn't get in the top 45, I wasn't given a place where I was in the panel or anything. So by the looks of things is it true to say most of the people who were there last year are there this year as well?

Yeah most of those who worked there last year are there again this year. You might get an offer yet, don't know as i remember last year they ran out of people in the panel. you should ring them and demand to see where you are on the panel. One thing i'll say is you do work hard in there, you have targets to achieve, and if you don't get hit your daily target, they will let you know, ive seen it, but there manageable. Not boasting are anything i always like a few others achieved our targets, and i know for a fact that there was some of those people them who are working again this year, there stats where shocking. You probably did a good interview, but its pull, somebody son or daughter who was out of work is a friend of the Managers etc etc. On another note did you apply for the TCO Compeition 2017. What kind of work are you looking for, is it Cleircal Administration.

I've applied for various Clerical Officer type jobs. I used to work as a Clerical Officer for around 4 years in a hospital, but that was over 10 years ago. Since then my main work has been in telesales/customer service. I finished my job in September 2015 to do a 1 year IT conversion course in CIT which I finished last June. With slow progress in trying to get something in the IT sector, I've been applying for Clerical Officer positions in recent months. I did apply for the TCO Competition and am placed 321 in Cork, so that could be 6 months or more before I get an interview. I applied for temporary Clerical Officers for the Cork County Council and have an interview for next week(6-12 month contracts I believe). I did an interview for the South Infirmary Hospital for temporary Clerical Officers recently but didn't get it, I thought I did better in that interview than the Passport Office one. I also applied for the Tulsa one, and have the aptitude tests to do before next week.

Where did you see about the Cork County Council being advertised as i have friends and family working there, and they didn't hear anything about TCO Contracts.

I saw it on the Careers website of CIT in February. I applied almost 4 weeks ago, the deadline was the 28th of February. I got the letter yesterday morning for an interview on Thursday week. It says on the letter that it is Temporary Clerical Officer-CIT, but I had to apply through the Cork County Council recruitment section email, and the interview is in the County Library Building. I'm emailing them to clarify if the job would be based in CIT.

Got an email on Friday telling me I had an interview in Dublin on May 22th for TCO.
My chosen location was Cork and for anyone else who is waiting for an interview for Cork, I was number 107.
Anyway, I can't make the interview that day and was wondering if anyone on here had any idea how long it would take to be rescheduled? Would I be waiting a while for another interview if I turn this one down?
Also, can anyone give me an idea of what kind of contracts are usually in Cork?
Is there ever any contracts for part time? E.g. 2 or 3 day weeks?

I got called for an interview for the passport office next week. I just started a new job last week(its in abtran so I'm not that attached to it) and I'm split between quitting the new job and going for the passport office. Does anyone know, how long the temporary contracts are? How much do they pay and is there any chance of being made permanent?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi just got letter saying I’m not being offered a position with Passport office cork but have been placed on the panel, but it doesn’t say what number I’m on the panel.

Can I find this information out by ringing them and also is there any chance of getting called from the panel.
    Did interview in early December.
