Digital Out not working when HDMI connected

    Hi

I recently purchased a Yamaha YAS-93 sound bar with Optical & Digital Out (Coaxial) to connect to my Hannspree 28" LED TV (which has a SPDIF/Digital Out but no Optical Out).
My soundbar works fine when using my UPC box (SCART) through the Coaxial connection but there is no sound using Apple TV (HDMI) and Raspberry Pi (HDMI).
I know that HDMI sends Video and Audio but it looks like my TV does not use Digital Out function when HDMI is connected.
I have checked the TV settings and there is an option for Digital Audio Out in SCART but no option when the HDMI input is selected.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

    regards
    bp.

Try Optical Out on your source device direct into the back of the soundbar.

    E.g Sky Box
    Optical Cable
    Soundbar

    Hope this helps!
