45 mins from landing to getting on a bus - Dublin Airport

    Looking at (Ryanair) flights....

Plane lands at 23:45 and the last bus we can catch west is 00:30

Any time we've landed before it's been day time so we didn't even think about timings.

    Is this pushing it?

(I know this is a 'how long is a piece of string' question!)

Flight in question would be Malaga - Dub

If you have bags to collect it might be pushing it. If only carry on, you'd be fine I reckon.

Have you luggage to collect in the baggage hall?
If not and your quick getting off you may make it.

Providing you can walk at an okay pace and you have no delays then you should be completely fine. Bear in mind also that the scheduled flights times are normally slight overestimates.

If you have check-in luggage or kids that will slow you down then it may be more difficult - but likely still do-able. I've done landing>bus in under 20 mins lots of times.

Had similar situation from Cologne last year, missed my bus as flight delayed by 30 mins, had to sleep in airport till first bus next morning. Late flights have a tendency to run delayed also!

Are you catching the bus at the Airport or City Centre.
If at the Airport and you only have carry on luggage and you are quick on your feet you should be fine.
If you are at the furthest end of the Terminal, Luggage to Collect, Security etc, it might be a tight squeeze, but do-able if you have no delays.
If your the bus is in the City Centre then no chance.

Landing to doors open can take 10-15 minutes, another 10-15 to get past passport control and then 10-15 min to get to the bus.

You should be fine, as its late and there should be no delays, but know beforehand exactly where your bus departs.

Get yourself priority boarding and book a seat in row 1 or 2, get off quickly, as passport control can also be busy at night.

If you can book a seat in the first 5 or last 5 rows of the plane, there will be front and rear exiting when you get to Dublin so you could save 5-7 minutes getting off quick. Your biggest concern will be passport control and how long that will take, they are now scanning every single passport from each visitor so if there's multiple planes landing at the same time it can take 15-20 mins or more.

Ended up booking Ryanair out and AerLingus back... we now have 1hr 20min to get the last bus.

Isin't costing me anything extra only that the rest of the group don't get exit seats anymore :pac:

Time for a pint before the bus! :)

Had a delayed flight from athens into dublin, should have landed at 11.30pm but the flight landed dublin late, doors opened at 12.17am, made it out to the aircoach area in 15 minutes and got on the bus

Had no delay at passport control and it was a fairly brisk walk/run past the dawdlers, no baggage to collect either

I'd say that's pushing it.......arrivals towards the end of the day tend to be a bit behind schedule because of knock-on delays.

Also depends on which end of the pier they pull into.

If you're chancing it, I'd pay for seat reservations and get aisle seats as close to the front as possible, and bring carry-on only.

    Blimey, that seemed quite extreme!
Were there no taxis available at the airport at that time?

Depends on where you are going. A taxi to Galway would work out pretty expensive ;)

    Thanks for the responses, folks.

But as you will see a few posts up, I posted that I got sorted by flying out Ryanair and return AerLingus. So we now have 2 choices on what return bus to get.

    Thanks again.

Ryanair staff are helpful, explain you need to catch a bus and they'll move you to the front , providing that there's room. Also be first in the line so you can put your bag in the bins at the front
