Triumph over adversity is something often batted around athletics these days but this is best one I have heard in a long while
    NOTABLE: HERO OF THE MEET
"The hero of the day was Zach Perrin," head coach Mark, Wetmore said. "Although he didn't run as fast as he hoped to in the 3,000 meters he did it with a broken arm. He tripped at the start of the race; fell very hard, they called the race back. I asked him if he was okay, he replied no, but he wanted to race. He ended up running a very fast time today with a broken arm."

Zach Perrin placed sixth in the elite field in the 3,000 meters with a time of 7:55.68. This time is a PR for him by more than 15 seconds.

Fair dues to him. Tough kid.

But pride of place in this department surely goes to Manteo Mitchell?
