Looking for 20 x log slices about 30cms/13 inches diameter. Preferably around 2 inches thick except for one at about 4 inches thick. Obviously sizes are not incredibly specific.

Anyone have any idea where I could buy these?

Where in the country are you? Are you going doing a bit of wood turning?

I'm in Meath, hopefully not wood turning. Hoping to just sand and varnish them. It won't let me post a link to what I'm thinking about unfortunately because I'm a new user.

Are you planning on doing something along the lines of this where the log is the base of the centre piece. Have you tried anybody who sells firewood. They should have the equipment and logs be able to slice them up any way you like.

It is exactly like that, where abouts are you based?

Go to any of the lads that do firewood. Show them the pic. They should put you in the right direction. I did some myself for a wedding organiser a few years back. She still uses them.

Would you want to sand them?

From experience, you'd be better off not doing them till as close to the wedding as you can and once you do them keep them in a place where they will stay lightly moist. Done a heap of them for someone before as a favour and when they were collected a lot of them had cracked from drying out.
Your alternative is do them with seasoned / kiln dried timber but cost you a bit more that way!

would be an option to get a wood burning kit, like soldering, engrave what you want and varnish, and you could do them a good bit out from the wedding & still keep them somewhere moist as suggested above

    Did you find any?

If not I might be able to help you with the size you require in Ash, Sycamore or Monterey Cypress.

    I live in Co Roscommon.

If I can help, please PM me.

If you drop me a message an uncle is clearing a ditch at moment and would have suitable stuff.

He did something similar for his daughters cake stand a few years back

Oldcastle would only be a few mins away or he be based in mullingar
