Maurice McCabe is suing the state over false Allegations. Can you sue anyone over false allegations? What does it come under?

There are a few potential heads of damage.

Since this matter is sub judice, I have to close off this discussion now.

To clarify the reason for the thread closure - while the OP's question is in relation to suing for false allegations, the question is asked by reference to a matter that is sub judice.

I might be accused of being cynical but I have my doubts that everyone on the site has adequate reading comprehension to make out the distinction between what the OP asked and the matter referred to in the first sentence.

Discussion of matters that are sub judice are an absolute hard no for this forum.
