What time of day do Aldi/Lidl mark down items?

Anyone know what time of day they mark down stuff that's near expiry date? Usually it's 30% off. Also if it's not marked down but expires tomorrow, can you bring it to the till and ask them if they'll mark it down?

In mine its usually done by the time I get there, about 5.15-5.30, I have seen them marking them at that time too.
