    Hi,

I am doing a once off bit of consultancy work.

I am already a PAYE employee with a another company.

I will be charging c €4K for the services over 2 months.

I want to be fully tax / VAT compliant.

Should I charge VAT or is there an exemption for something like this?

    Thanks

Unless your sales exceed €37500 in a 12 month period there is no need to register for VAT.
This is in respect of the supply of services services
It is unlikely given the details above that a VAT registration is required.

You would not have to register for Income Tax, chargeable person is one who's net income exceeds threshold of € 5,000.

You only need to complete a Form 12 to be tax compliant, so long as your income is below € 5,000 for the year 2017.
