Football's League structure better than Championship - Discuss

The League will never rival the All-Ireland in attendance figures, but in terms of competitiveness and equity for all 32 teams, it certainly trumps its rival. For the "elite" teams, a steady diet of regular head-to-heads against direct rivals ensures a motivation to work towards peak fitness, while the smaller counties see the vast majority of their fixtures played during this spell, and get a true gauge of their annual progress through promotion or relegation, as contrasted with the hammerings many will receive in the provincial systems. It's highly unlikely that the present Championship structure will ever radically alter, but factoring in League finishes into seedings would seem the best starting point for such a discussion.

Or playing the league in summer and championship in spring might solve everything!

I'm a big fan of the league. Playing every team home and away and scrapping the other structures would be great as far as I'm concerned.

It would allow AIs to be won and lost all over the country and still have big days in CP

Yeah I enjoy the league, well the format not my counties performance.
Set schedule and X amount of guaranteed home games.

Without turning into a championship structures debate but I wouldn't be opposed to top 4 leagues teams going into AI QF along with 4 provincial champions. If there's crossover the next highest ranked teams get in.
You can scrap qualifiers and free up club time.

But anyway let's hear it for the league.
