I have heard of this magical land many times but I have never experienced it. Can someone please tell me how do I get to this secret place on earth where miracles happen? Does it even exist? Or is it just fairytales told to children to help them sleep?

No such place. It's Limerick you're thinking of.

It does exist. It's like a Mediterranean version of Carlow.

Does Dublin exist? I heard they are all inbred up there as they don't know their cousins and end up marrying them, scary stuff.

Yes, some of south Leitrim rose to fame when they voted No in the marriage referendum!

The people of Roscommon are adamant that the blame lies entirely with south Leitrim for that result, and furthermore, also insist that it doesn't exist, and want reparations from Carrick -on-Shannon (which doesn't exist) for stealing money out of the county by virtue of the fact it is more lively and interesting than any part of Roscommon (which actually does exist).

I reckon Leitrim is some kind of tax dodge..I cannot prove it...but i'm working on it.

I heard that it's just open water between the counties of Sligo and Fermanagh. It's only been in existence since the beginning of the 20th century and came into being after some secretive dealings between the British crown and DeValera.

Some say it was where Russia and Japan got their inspiration for creating Finland.

The best thing that came out of Leitrim was Declan Darcy, who was so ashamed of where he lived he defected to Dublin.

Archaeologists have been trying to locate it for years, but with no joy.

Believe it or not but Leitrim even has a sort of dual carriageway, a cinema and a set of traffic lights.

The reason many have never found Leitrim is that it will only reveal itself if you are worthy

Leitrim is approximately 26 times larger, and has approximately 350 more inhabitants, than the nation of San Marino.
    So there.
