So the Sisters riello 40 burner ran out of oil again so I had to open the air bleed screw on the pump again. There is a small leak from the screw after tightening. I turned off the oil to the burner and removed the screw altogether and retightened it but theres still a slight leak from it. Any remedy for this?

Did you refit it with the small washer?

There was no small washer when I removed it. There was a little black plastic seal on the end of the screw alright, is that what you mean? Thanks

That would be the pressure adjustment screw you took out. You'll need to get s service man out to replace seal and set oil pressure on it

There is a plug just below it. And one on side of pump also. Could be running fine but it won't be getting enough air to burn properly and will just spot up

Just checked the manual, the screw I opened is labeled "vacuum guage connection" the pressure adjuster is a different screw on the other face of the pump

You might get away in short term by twisting a couple of inches of ptfe into a sort of rope and winding around the neck of that screw. It will need regular monitoring until you get proper seal.

I think I saw boxes of seals in Lidl or Aldi recently.

Just to clear up earlier confusion this screw does not affect anything else does it?

If it were me,id wrap two to three winding of ptfe around the threaded part and groove it into the threads..,it will not leak afterwards

That'll work, but just be careful not to introduce a free floating piece of ptfe into the pump chamber. It'll cause havoc.

    Wouldn't the Filter catch it?

Most likely, but if it caught everything the nozzle filter would never get dirty and it does. Also I have seen lots of instances of filter damage from too aggressive cleaning. Probably a flat screwdriver puncture.
