Spots

So I've been getting about two spots per week for the last decade.

But there seems to be a few myths about bursting them. I burst all of mine, and I've got no scars... that I'm aware of. So I presume it's okay to continue bursting them? Do people actually believe (that once a spot is burst) that the so called "harmful bacteria" from within the pimple are more likely to result in a further spot developing nearby? I don't think so - and I'd know! I recently read "bursting acne may result in pain"! Hmmm... let me worry about that!

I also read people say "oh don't burst it, it's not worth it". Well what's the alternative? Do they really just go away on their own? I once resisted bursting a spot for 5 days, what seemed like 10 days) and nothing about it seemed to change. I think it might have gotten bigger actually.

Is it possible to go to a dermatologist and get them sucked out? at short notice? I might have to look into that!? Because it is a risk to burst it. Not because of scarring, but because they get inflamed if I try to squeeze them too early, or if they're too deep.

What I do agree with, is to leave the spot for 24 hours, to make sure it's ready to burst. Because once you've begun trying to squeeze it, it's impossible to stop. That's a realistic challenge. It's hard to know if it's deep or not. Generally speaking, it'd be easier to quit smoking than it would be to leave a pimple on your face for a week.

    Thanks
