    I want to put up a few wireless sensor lights and would rather not drill into the lovely red brick!

    would there be any no more nails type adhesive that will hold a 500g wireless light to a smooth brick wall?

    would no more nails do the job?

    if i were to remove them down the line how best to remove the glue residue?

    Adhesive would probably do more damage to the brick than drilling. Can you drill and fix at the mortar? Presume it's outdoor use so apart from the weight of the lights you have the elements to contend with.

    yes mortar is an option but ideally they need to be fitted at 3 points, mortar will give me 2

    If you can support the light while the adhesive sets, I would use Tec 7 its strong stuff and pretty high tack.
    I don't think it will hold a light up if there is a cantilevered force acting on it so you may need to use a creative solution to prop it in place for a few hours.

    You will more than likely get 3 fixings in the mortar,two above the brick and one in the vertical joint

    You could aim for two good fixings in a horizontal mortar joint and then a dab of construction adhesive under the third fixing point, shimming with a small piece of plastic or whatever.

    Just use a bit of wood as a backing plate;

    1/2inch plywood, screw the lights into this, and hang the whole lot with a 1" masonry nail.

    Simple, easy, no mess, and even a bit of mdf will outlast the lights themselves.

    Will that hammer into the mortar or brick is better ?

    They weigh a meer 250gms. 2 screws in a horizontal mortar joint will hold them with ease, no question. On a side note, they're only 200lumens. So don't be expecting decent light output. Takes 3xD batteries too. More expense.
