Have recently put in a home network which was running a mac mini with USB drives attached but have houd it lacking in performance so was thinking of putting in a proper NAS.

I have four WD USB 4TB MyBook drives that I'd be cracking the case on to put into it. - iTunes Music, Movies & TV, Photo Storage, Crashplan backup & Carbon Copy Backup (although I could lose the Carbon Copy one in lieu of the crash plan).

Haven't got too much to spend on it - maybe £200 or thereabouts.

I also need to be able to run a sonas speaker off it also.

    Any suggestions?

The answer is always Synology. Dunno what you'll get for that budget though.
