    hey

    my son has a ps4 and he wants to be able to play minecraft online with his friend from school but I have no idea how to do this

    he has the ps4 and the physical game and also a ps4 online membership ( costs about €50 )

    now his friend has the exact same setup too

    so far he has found his friend and added him , but that's as far as we can get too

    he sends invites but nothing happens , any step by step guide here would be so valuable to my sanity

    His friend will need to be online at the same time to a accept the request to play with him.

    It should appear on the friends Playstation with a prompt to press the middle PS button. Once he joins a "party " they should be able to play together

    Both he and his friend though should check their settings on the PlayStation. Its possible to disable notifications from appearing even if they are in a game, so assuming he knows how to invite his friend it might just be their notification settings.

    From a quick google on notifications not working I found one or two links for you to have a look at.
    http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2014/09/guide_how_to_turn_off_ps4_party_notifications_from_friends

    On the PS4
    > Settings
    >> Notifications
    >>> Invitations. Etc

    Hopefully that's all it is.
