    Hi all
I'm in the middle of a bathroom install and I've got to the stage where I'll be installing the pump (twin impellar positive head 2bar) I've a price on Stuart turner monsoon and grundfos amazon which are the same price. What make is better and why?
Most importantly which make in your experience is quieter and more reliable.
    Thanks for your help.
P.s they are both comparable models, i.e. Both brass body etc.

I fitted a Stuart similar to the one you referred to 18 years ago and it's still working away trouble free. From the research I did at the time it was head and shoulders above other makes and models on the market but 15% more expensive But it's the best investment I ever made, I couldn't imagine taking a shower now without a pump - it would be like standing out in a drizzle.

So from my experience it's basically fit and forget !

Re. noise level - it has a barley audible buzz when it kicks in but this gets drowned out with the shower running.

Yeah went with the Stuart turner. Have to say I'm very impressed with the lack of noise the unit makes for the pressure it delivers. Its rated as "frim 54db". Hopefully it lasts as long as yours!!
    Thanks

Also, once the Stuart Turner brass pump is fitted exactly in accordance with manufacturers instructions, you will get a 5 year warranty on the pump, compared to 1 or 2 years from other brands.

The monsoon comes with a 5 year parts and labour warranty. They have a distributor agent here In Ireland. They only honour the warranty with an Irish receipt as far as I know. So it's worth factoring that in.
I installed a 3 bar positive head monsoon pump myself yesterday in my own home. It cost €420 at my suppliers. This is a pretty quiet pump. A lot quieter than the 2 bar salamander pump I took out.
A 5 year warranty is not to be sniffed at

Any idea do modern plant honor the warranty if bought in the UK?
I know some of the big shower brands won't honour UK showers.

Good question, not sure to be bonest, but I doubt it..
No harm in asking I suppose, you would still need to phone stuart turner uk to get your return code, so I imagine they might still get a credit from Stuart Turner.
I'll ask next time I'm in.

Thanks for that. It's handy information to have. If anyone asks

I'm looking at getting Stuart Turner 2.0 Bar Twin model (46415), is there an issue if pump is a UK model i.e. flexi hose connectors are 22mm in UK vs ROI 21mm,can I just use a generic ones?

Ideally use 21mm if using Irish piping

Never use U.K. 22mm push fit pump hoses on Irish 3/4" pipe, disaster waiting to happen.
You can use generic flexi pipes if you wish, or buy 22mm - 3/4" adaptors.
Keep in mind that using anything other that the pump manufacturers own flexi hoses would invalidate any possible warranty that you might have. If you import the pump from the U.K. you may not have a warranty on it here anyway.
