...from Fianna Fail from 2001 so Bin Laden could not nuke me. I also have from FF - during the same period - a letter telling me I have a tree and how to visit it.

I am still alive and doing a woodworking course. Who says that FF never understood contingency.

Ah yes the iodine tablet. I thought they gave those out when people kicked up a fuss about Sellafield years ago, and thought it was going to blow up and kill us all.

That's what they were for alright. Six were sent to 'every' home in 2002. No instructions on how many to take or how often and the same number regardless of the number of people in the house. We never actually received any.

Only those of us who were to repopulate got them.

Take one now and the other in the morning and you'll be as right as rain by Friday.

But some of us would have been needed to show you young foxes how to survive with all your technology gone.

FFS! I was wondering about the feckin tree aswell! Its in Laois somewhere. Something to do with the Millenium. One for every household in the country. That's all I know.

I took the iodine tablets years ago.

Not to worry, sure some 'report' said everyone would be 'just grand' in the event of a direct meteorite strike upon Sellafield.

Even a 'worst-case-scenario' and a hot plume release, sure you wouldn't even need to draw the curtains, just close the odd window like.

Perhaps if it did ever melt, go easy on the cabbages or other leafy vegetables for a decade (or two) anyways...

So the conclusion to the resort was sure if the wind is blowing the right way we will be grand

Indeed the Irish EPA would appear to suggest 'carry on as normal' in the event of a meltdown, just go easy on the fresh salads and don't take the dog out for a walk along the coast for a few days.

    Sure.
