Fecked fridge?

My fridge freezer has started making disturbing gurgling noises during the chilling cycle. It's working OK in as much as the temp lights are normal, no warning lights are on, and both fridge and freezer seem fine. Our local white goods fixer came and had a look, he said not too worry, it'll probably just keep on working regardless of the noises.
I've switched it off for half an hour and defrosted it, all is still working but the noises are stiil there. Should I start saving for a replacement, or just turn the TV volume up?

if it is cutting out on temp. no immediate worries, might be worth pulling it out from the wall and putting your hand on different parts of the pipework that runs down the back of it (the condenser) sometimes they give off weird noises, gurgling noise more often than not indicates a refrigerant leak but if it is cutting out its ok for refrigerant.

Thanks for the info, at the moment it seems to be working fine and the gurgling sounds seem to be less frequent (although that could be wishful thinking lol)......fingers crossed it will decide to settle down!
