Commercial van: buy in UK or Ireland?

I'm in the market for a commercial van. Currently have 151 Caddy but need something a bit bigger.
I have kinda settled on a Ford Transit Custom Limited SWB, 162 or 171. VW Transporter appears a bit pricey for similar spec. Planning a cash purchase and not trading in.
I'm looking at prices between UK and Ireland, there's about €5k -6k difference and a lot more choice in the UK.
Is there a catch? Apart from a flight, ferry, VRT are there any other costs/factors to consider when importing.
    Any advice appreciated.

No catch really , just a little bit of work . A friend of mine bought a Transit up in Derry just before Christmas and saved about 5k ish and got a much better spec van also .

Hi everyone. Im in a similiar situation. I have bought a second hand car in London from cargiant a few years ago, no hassle there.
Looking to buy a new Trafic, Primaster, Vivaro. Again is it beneficial buying new from a main dealer in uk as opposed to Ireland. I understand the whole vat thing as i am registered. Any info please
