Ideal FF250 a Combi-Boiler?

Came across another thread that prompted me to wonder about my Ideal FF250 mini wall mounted boiler. We've had it in the house since we bought it 18 years ago. It had a leaking fault last year that necessitated a replacement part that rusted and leaked.

The controller was also replaced and the plumber told us that it can heat the rads and do hot water separately. The old controller also had separate controls for hot water and heating but I've never got, nor still can get, hot water to heat on it's own.

Using the controls to turn on hot water does nothing, but using the heating controls gives both hot water and heating. It just means in the summer we turn off all the rads. So my main question is, does this FF250 actually provide separate heating or is it just a case that the controller has the separate functions but the boiler doesn't support that?

My secondary question is that I'm getting both hot water and heating, but the gauge just shows the pressure needle sitting just above zero, so should that not indicate an issue? Every so often I have to bleed what appears to be a rad almost directly upstairs but otherwise I have hot water and heating ok...
