Switch the CPU, board and RAM for an i3 7100, a B250 board and 8gb DDR4 RAM

Agreed. Any AMD processor at the moment is pointless. Old platform, limited to DDR3, dead end in terms of upgrades and unreliable performance in games. Intel Kabylake is cheaper, more reliable performance, much newer platform with fast DDR4 support and much better upgrade potential to i5/i7 down the line.

AMD FX setups only make sense that if gotten cheap 2nd hand, but new they're a bad investment.

Change i3-7100 for Pentium G4560, change SSD to 256Gb Sandisk Z400s, and change PSU to a cheap XFX 450W+ Bronze-rated model.

Been trying to get a G4560 but no stock and also it has just jumped €20 on mindfactory, if buying from amazon.de is it best to avoid resellers and try and stick to amazon ?

Looking at getting one too and I'm aiming for a low budget so was a bit miffed... went and looked up some other sites, and when I went back, it seems like the €20 hike has disappeared from mindfactory again? http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/Intel-Pentium-G4560-2x-3-50GHz-So-1151-BOX_1136476.html

Failing that, Alza are going it for €67 (€60 for the chip, €7 delivery to Ireland), you can switcher language/currency in the top corner - https://www.alzashop.com/intel-pentium-g4560-d4630170.htm?o=1
