I have damp patch in one of bedroom ceilings, attic is converted. I have reomved the flooring close to where patch is but no pipes in the floor and no evidence of damp anywhere else .

Anyone any ideas. On who I could call to try remedy

At least have a look at any all pipes that you can. I had a leak in the attic once. Whatever way it was dripping/running it only manifested itself as a damp patch on the ceiling two floors below.

Maybe a leaking roof? Possibly water running down a rafter or along a joist, rather than directly above the damp spot itself. Best checked when it's raining, as it probably is now with today's weather!

Not sure that it could be the roof, but can't rule it out. Looked at most of the pipe work that's accessible in crawl space in attic. Do plumbers have leak detection kits. Don't fancy letting someone loose and pulling up/down floors and ceilings
