HTC One M8s will not boot up

I have a 6 month-ish old HTC One M8s that I was using and battery ran out to zero and I stuck it on charge for a few hours and went to boot it up and nothing, so I plugged it back on to charge and noticed there was an orange flashing light so I'm guessing it was taking on the charge. Left it for a few hours charging and still the same. Tried to hold down power and volume to boot it but not working.
Looks like a battery/power issue ..... any ideas on what to try?
I went to Car Phone Warehouse to se if there is anything they can do and they said they could send it away for repair but it would involve reimaging the phone. And I don't know why that is the first thing that they need to do, given its a power issue? Why do they need to opt for that option straight away??? Is that them just taking the lazy/nuclear option?

Try a HTC authorised repair outlet - there is one called GSM near Caple street if you're in Dublin. I own a HTC 825 myself and bought it in carphone warehouse. I kind of agree with you about carphone warehouse, I simply don't know what on earth they are doing selling mini drones.

Ok, I had this charging this morning with a different charger and tried the boot menu after 30 seconds and it came up .... Selected Fastboot and then reboot and its good to go I think
