    Hello,

This may have been covered many times..but can someone tell me how SNA positions are advertised and how someone goes about applying for an SNA position ?? Google is not helping me at all!

Honestly are there SNA positions out there ? And is it really who you know that matters ?

    Many thanks for responses

SNA posts usually advertised on education posts.ie.
Bear in mind an SNA recently made redundant has to be offered a job first ie
If one applies they get job, if more than 1 only they interviewed, if none open competition.

They can be from anywhere in country.

There are hundreds of experienced SNAs unemployed. When a school applies to get an SNA, one of the things they must do before they even get the SNA is to submit a plan as to how they will go about making the SNA unnecessary.

As already pointed out, SNAs that lose their jobs due to the child moving to secondary or the child apparently no longer needing SNA help (according to annual reviews by the SENO, not the school) generally get panel rights and have to be offered posts before they are advertised for open application.
