Applying for wife's citizenship

I have dual UK and Irish citizenship through my dad.
I have had an irish passport since I moved to Ireland in 2007.
When I married my Brazilian wife in 2010 everything was done with my UK passport and forms stating UK citizen including all her visa applications.

Will putting myself as an irish citizen to apply for her citizenship create any problems? It's a lot less paperwork required.
