Hi,

I hope this is ok. Not looking for legal advise but rather clarification on my family's rights. I'll keep it vague as I'm not 100% certain our solicitor doesn't read this forum. In a nutshell we recently sold a home inherited by us. All requirements were fulfilled but before issuing money to the family the solictor convinced a few members that they should have his accountant look over it for capital gains tax (which I know is self-assessment) We eventually agreed but now he is dragging it out claiming mistakes were made on figures etc. (after paying the accountant and capital gains). This has been months now. As it is a self assessment tax we want to relieve him of this and ask him to just cut the final cheques but I wanted to be sure that he is employed by the family rather than the deceased if you get my meaning.
