Logging satellite signal on E2 boxes

I had an extremely intermittent signal loss on an Amiko Alien II. Called a satellite repair guy who said it was loose cables on the LNB, left everything in place and said it was fixed for €80. To be fair to the guy I know he believed that, and indeed the problem did go away for 8 weeks, but is now back. So whatever he did must have had an effect but must have reverted in some way.

I know it's not the box, as I upgraded that to an Edision OS mega.

I'm trying to get the guy to come back but would like to be able to log the signal so that I have some data on how often it happens.

There is a signal meter on the android app Dreamdroid (though it seems only to log the currently displaying service), but what I'd love to able to do is log that data into a file. I am a Linux guy. I can login to the box... could even curl data off the web interface. I just don't know where that data is coming from. It works on the app but I don't see signal meter in Webif.

    Ix.
